It's hard to believe that customarily, the clean water a developing community desperately needs is right underneath them. And it's amazing how a relatively small investment to get to it can make such a dramatic difference in so many lives. That's why International Transformation Foundation (ITF) funds Water Kiosks at Schools.
The main reason why we fund water projects in schools is because children often bear the burden of walking miles each day to find water for their families in streams and ponds. (Imagine an 8- year old child carrying a 20 litre jerry can on their back or head, isn’t that equivalent to carrying a baby hippo, quite sorrowful). This makes it difficult for them to punctually attend school causing absenteeism and eventually in some instances it leads to school dropouts which is not good for any economy. Education is a key component of economic growth. At ITF, our top priorities are to keep children in school and also instill the business culture in children from a very tender age. We also hope to move away from the norm of people being educated to seek jobs and teach them about entrepreneurship.
